Erick Cedeño, aka the Bicycle Nomad's Mission to Inspire Through History and Cycling

Erick Cedeño is a bikepacker who retraces historical routes such as the Underground Railroad and the paths of the Buffalo Soldiers. His motivation comes from a childhood trip to Mexico where he visited ancient civilizations and was inspired by their history.

He combines his love for bikepacking and history to create enriching experiences for himself and to honor the stories of those who came before him. Erick is dedicated to recognizing the Buffalo Soldiers, a group of African American soldiers who used bicycles to traverse the country in the late 1800s. He is working to identify and give dignity to each soldier by name and face. The conversation explores the importance of highlighting the forgotten history of African-American bikepacking and the need for diversity and inclusivity in cycling. It emphasizes the power of storytelling to inspire and empower others.

Discover more about how Erick Cedeño, aka Bicycle Nomad, is inspiring the next generation of explorers while advocating for inclusivity and commitment to telling historical stories on the Ride To Success podcast with Pedro Couto Lopes.
